How we fund retrofit at scale outside of grant funding is one of the defining challenges the social housing sector faces at the moment and is one that has dominated our conversations with the sector over the last couple of years.

Following commissioning from seven housing associations – L&Q, Places for People, Platform, Riverside, SNG, Yorkshire Housing and Vivid we have in collaboration with Energiesprong published the “Deploying Innovative Retrofit Funding Models in the Social Housing Sector” playbook.

Informed by the sector and for the sector, the playbook produces 11 workstreams critical for implementing a successful innovative retrofit funding model that looks beyond grant funding.

This is about asset management in a changing climate and how retrofit will have a key role to play in maintaining the health of our social housing in the coming years.
