Join us for our January Retrofit Society 2.0 quarterly meeting with a focus on climate resilience and healthier neighbourhoods.
With a renewed focused on finance, this forum is designed to break siloes and make your ambitious projects happen. We’ll explore practical, scalable finance models, demystify risks, and share real-world solutions that unlock retrofit ambitions and deliver healthier, more sustainable homes.
Expect thought-provoking discussion, expert insights, and peer learning, all wrapped into a dynamic, one-day in-person session.

10:30 – 11:15 Circular materials and adaptations
As climate risks increase, retrofit needs to go beyond improving energy performance to creating homes and neighbourhoods that are resilient over the long term. This panel will explore the role of circular materials, adaptation within the home, and wider neighbourhood approaches, bringing together perspectives from a housing association and the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products.
11:15 – 12:00 What we can learn about overheating from hospitals, prisons and care homes
Overheating is becoming an increasingly important issue for housing providers, but other sectors have been grappling with the challenge for many years. This session will explore what housing can learn from hospitals, prisons and care homes.
12:00 – 12:45 Lunch
12:45 – 13:30 Geospatial decision making
As climate risks become more complex, housing providers need better ways to understand where to prioritise investment and how different risks overlap. This session will explore how geospatial data can support decision-making around issues such as overheating, flooding, shading and vulnerable residents, demonstrating how mapping and spatial analysis can help organisations target interventions, build climate resilience and make more informed investment decisions.

13:45 – 14:30 Climate resilience in practice
This session will showcase practical examples of how organisations are responding to climate risks, from blue and green infrastructure to neighbourhood-scale adaptation. Through real-world case studies, we’ll explore the interventions that are already making communities more resilient to a changing climate.
14:30 – 15:00 Member sharing: next steps
In this closing session we will discuss the biggest challenges members face in delivering large-scale retrofit. Together, we’ll explore how the Society and fellow landlords can support you in 2027 to drive collective progress.
