Paul Norman has joined Healthy Homes Hub as a Director, where he will lead a new division providing consultancy and strategic asset management services to housing providers implementing large-scale home upgrades and place-based investment programmes.

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in asset and property management across both public and private sectors. He joins Healthy Homes Hub from his most recent role as Director of Asset Strategy at Clarion Housing Group, England’s largest social housing landlord. At Clarion he led on asset strategy and held responsibility for stock transfers, disposals and acquisitions, regeneration, sustainability and the decarbonisation of their existing portfolio.

In his new role, Paul will take the lead for the new Energising Assets division, which is a partnership between Healthy Homes Hub, Energiesprong UK and Baringa Partners. The new division will work with social housing providers as independent advisors to support the planning and delivery of large-scale housing stock interventions and upgrade programmes aligning asset strategy, finance, governance and resident engagement.

Speaking about his new role, Paul Norman, Director, Healthy Homes Hub said:

“Over the coming years, the social housing sector faces a set of complex, high-stakes investment decisions. Among the most critical is how to bring asset and energy strategies into alignment with funding models in a way that genuinely improves residents’ lives and supports more sustainable, resilient homes. This is through viewing and understanding assets holistically. Residents should not have to wait for things to go wrong before their homes are improved, instead we should be implementing proactive, preventative investment into our social homes that also acts as an expression of respect, care and social equality.

“The opportunity to develop and lead a new division in partnership with real industry experts to tackle these challenges was the attraction to joining the Healthy Homes Hub. I love the Hub’s focus on placing health at the heart of housing provision, and I want this new division to become a real asset to the sector, supporting the delivery of healthier, more sustainable homes and meaningful improvements in residents’ lives.”

The Healthy Homes Hub brings together housing providers, policymakers, contractors, academics and health professionals with a single aim - to put health at the heart of housing provision.

Energiesprong UK are independent experts focused on accelerating better retrofit solutions through partnerships. Baringa Partners is a global management consulting firm with expertise in the energy, financial services and utilities sectors with a recognised specialism in the energy transition.

Jenny Danson, Chief Executive of the Healthy Homes Hub added:

“Paul has been at the forefront of innovative thinking as to how we improve social housing provision for a number of years, so we are delighted he has joined us to lead the next evolution of the Hub. We have quickly become a trusted knowledge base for the housing sector on improving the health impact of homes.

"The new Energising Assets division will build on that – bringing together the collective expertise of Energiesprong UK, Baringa Partners and Paul’s experience in housing programme delivery to support the sector in tackling the complex investment challenge of decarbonising its housing stock over the coming decades.”
