The recently announced Warm Homes Plan is a welcome intervention into the challenge of decarbonising heat in our buildings. It brings with it some substantial investment and it can be argued proves a bit of a watershed moment for social housing.
The plan provides the sector with some certainty on the intended deployment of low-carbon technologies at scale and reaffirms what people have long thought, that electrification is the chosen route to decarbonising heat in our homes and buildings.
The question it raises is, are we giving these technologies the best platform to perform and deliver upon.
