CHIC, the procurement and asset management consortium, has become a strategic partner of the Healthy Homes Hub
CHIC will share its expertise of strategic procurement and asset management to the Hub’s membership in the quest to improve the health of our social homes across the UK
As part of the partnership a new specialist Procurement Hub will be established within the Hub’s portfolio
The Healthy Homes Hub is delighted to announce that the procurement and asset management consortium CHIC has become its latest strategic partnership.
The partnership will see the two organisations work together to help inform the hub’s membership of academics, health professionals and housing providers on how we can improve the health of our social homes through the use of strategic procurement and asset management services.
CHIC have been supporting the social housing sector for the last 15 years with a number of their procurement frameworks already helping landlords and housing providers address maintenance and the upkeep of their homes, alongside decarbonisation measures as the sector moves towards a carbon-free future. They also currently manage a specific four-year Healthy Homes Framework which covers a range of solutions designed to enhance residential properties and improve tenants’ lives covering retrofit energy efficiency solutions and property safety refurbishments.
Commenting on the new partnership, Luke Hurd, Chief Operating Officer at CHIC said:
“The provision of safe, sustainable and healthy homes is something we should all aspire too. Home is a common theme for all, and it should be an environment that does not make people ill. That responsibility is on all of us, because the upside and benefits of healthy homes for wider communities and society is a win for everyone. We are looking forward to adding our assets and procurement knowledge to the already good work of the Hub to raise the profile of the clear connection between the quality of our homes and the quality of our health by highlighting the enabling role that clever strategic procurement can play.”
Jenny Danson, Chief Executive of the Healthy Homes Hub adds:
“As we have said before, to really improve the health of our homes requires a strong community that takes a long-term and inclusive view of how our homes are lived in. Partnerships like this one with CHIC are vital to allow us to continue to educate, inform and create thoughtful dialogue about health in the home. We welcome them to the Hub and look forward to working with them on a number of exciting initiatives not least the creation of a new specialist knowledge hub for our members which will showcase the role strategic procurement can play in improving the health of our social housing stock in the UK”
CHIC joins Aico as a second strategic partner of the Hub.
