As 2024 draws to a close, it’s remarkable to reflect on the extraordinary journey of the Healthy Homes Hub.
From a concept envisioned in January to a soft launch in June and culminating in our full launch in November at Amazon AWS HQ in London, this year has been nothing short of transformative. We’ve grown from an idea to a thriving community that is helping to reshape the housing landscape for healthier, more sustainable living environments.
A Growing Community
One of our proudest achievements is the growth of our membership base. We now have 372 individual housing organisations on board, including social landlords, local authorities, and combined authorities. This strong representation underscores the pressing need for collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the sector. In addition, we’ve welcomed 48 academic institutions who bring cutting-edge research and innovation to the table, along with a number of medical and health professionals whose insights are invaluable in bridging housing and health.
On the commercial front, we’re delighted to report that we have five commercial members already active, with four more set to join in January and more in the pipeline. These partnerships are crucial as they bring innovative solutions and resources to help drive progress. Our hub sponsors, including Sero, iOpt, TCW, Zehnder, Switchee, tpas, and Tallarna, and our partner the Fusion21 Foundation, have been instrumental in supporting our mission to make every home in the UK a healthy one.
Landmark Events
This year has also seen a series of successful events that have engaged and inspired our community. Alongside these achievements, our LinkedIn page has grown to over 1,400 followers, further amplifying our reach and impact within the housing sector. From online masterclasses and roundtables with the DNOs, to our live launch event in London, we’ve created platforms for meaningful discussions and actionable insights. These events have not only showcased best practices but have also fostered connections among policymakers, housing providers, academics, and health professionals.
Innovations and Milestones
Our groundbreaking AI-powered tool, Housing Sage, has been a standout achievement this year. Tailored specifically for the social housing sector, Housing Sage is revolutionising how professionals access guidance on regulations, best practices, and operational advice. By streamlining processes and offering personalised insights, it has quickly become an indispensable resource for our members, with early adopters already reporting significant time savings in their day-to-day operations.
Additionally, our podcast series, #MakingHousingBetter, has reached an incredible milestone with 20 episodes aired. This series has become a platform for insightful conversations on housing health, sustainability, and innovation, featuring expert voices from across the sector. Combined, listeners have spent over 135 hours engaging with our content, highlighting its relevance and impact.
Looking Ahead
As we step into 2025, we’re excited about the road ahead. Our study tours, beginning in April, will offer immersive learning experiences across key locations, bringing theoretical knowledge to life. With plans to onboard new commercial members and continue expanding our hubs, the Healthy Homes Hub is poised for another impactful year.
To all our members, sponsors, and supporters: thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re not just imagining healthier homes—we’re making them a reality.
